Date modified: 15 February 2022

This report was prepared by Tony Knowles and Erik Middelink of SME Cambodia contracted by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Government of Samoa. The proposed project is intended to demonstrate biomass gasification technology. The project will inform policy makers, potential private sector investors and the general public regarding the role that biomass-fueled electricity generation systems could play in the Samoa energy economy and in reducing atmospheric emission  of green-houses gasses (GHG). The objective of this feasibility study is to identify potential sites for the project and determine the technical and financial viability of building and operating a biomass-fueled power plant.
