Progressing Gender Equality in the Pacific (PGEP) is a five-year project working with the 14 Pacific Island countries (PICs) to strengthen governments’ capacity to mainstream gender and to improve gender statistics to better monitor progress towards gender equality. It is funded through Pacific Women Shaping Pacific Development (Pacific Women) from the Australian Government and implemented by the Pacific Community (SPC). The PGEP project commenced in 2013 and will finish in 2018. This is a formative mid-term evaluation of PGEP, commissioned by DFAT to gain a picture of progress during the first three years of the project (1 July 2013 – 30 June 2016).
