Feasibility of Hydroelectric Power from Tides at Fanga'uta Lagoon Entrance : The objectives are to investigate the feasibility of generating hydroelectric power using the tidal flow in and out of Fanga'uta Lagoon and to prepare a plan identifying steps which need to be taken to proceed with this development. In its 1995 Work Program, SOPAC pledged that it would consult with Norwegian institutions on possible future, support for its work in this area and then develop proposals as appropriate.
