This dataset contains digitized building footprints for all islands in Tuvalu. The data was created under the TCAP project, while the replacement cost was calculated as part of the PARTneR 2 project.
Building location points were collected during field surveys in 2019 and building attribute information was collected for all islands except Vaitupu and Funafuti. The building footprints were then digitzed for all islands using LiDAR data (2019) and OSM data (2020).
The replacement cost (‘repl_cost’ attribute) was calculated using the PRIF methodology if the wall material (‘Wall_Mater’) was known (mainly using Basic and Standard Design building valuation, and not Superior Design). For those buildings that had no attributes, the overall average of replacement cost per m2 were used and was multiplied by the building footprint area (‘Area’).
Field Survey during 2019 did not capture building attributes for Funafuti and Vaitupu. Building polygons was captured through 2019 Lidar and updated using OSM 2020.
