Participants at Pacific Women’s ‘Lunch and Learn’ session on 5 September 2018 were treated to a presentation by Jennifer Litau on her research into maternal mortality in Gulf Province in Papua New Guinea. Dr Litau is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Humanities, Education and Theology at Pacific Adventist University in Port Moresby. She worked with a team of academics, health professionals, and development partners to conduct the research. The team used a mix of research methods to investigate the factors leading to high levels of maternal mortality. Dr Litau presented the results at the Adventists Human-Subject Researchers Association Conference at Andrews University in the USA last May.
